William 'Billy' Vernon
William "Billy" Vernon

In September of 1982 Plant City native Rolly Rollyson entered into a partnership with his former little league coach, Billy Vernon.  Billy was an agent for Metropolitan Insurance Company and thought the insurance industry would be a good fit for Rolly and V & R Insurance was born.

In the beginning the agency was an all lines agency helping business and individuals protect themselves from risk.  In 1993 the Property & Casualty business was sold and the focus became Employee Benefit Programs such as group health, dental, life and disability coverage.

Over time the need for helping seniors find coverage as they became Medicare age became apparent and V & R began offering Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage plans and Part D Prescription coverage. In addition, they recognized that individuals under 65 were in need of coverage and started offering individual medical plans.

In March 2010 there was yet another change. Rolly’s son Rhett opened Rollyson Fearnow Agency a Property and Casualty Insurance agency. Housed in the V & R offices Rhett helps his customers insure their personal homes and automobiles.

Even though Billy Vernon and Rolly Rollyson have both retired they are still often seen in the office. Billy stops by occasionally and Rolly Rollyson maintains an office in the building and helps seniors with Medicare Options and enjoys a little golf now and then.
